University of Bahr El Ghazal Academic Staff Association general assembly stopped strikes with effect from Friday.

The chairperson of the Association Makur Makuac Chinor notified authorities about the lifting of strike, Voice of Hope reported.

He explained that they stopped strike to sympathize with students who came from all corners of the country.

Dr Makuac cautioned that the strike might resume in February if their allowances are not reinstated as pledged by authorities.

Staff of public universities across South Sudan on Monday laid down their tools calling on authorities to reinstate allowances and pay their arrears.
