The national ministry of Education on Thursday released South Sudan School Certificate exams results indicating that girls performed better than boys.
Undersecretary Deng Deng Hoc said the overall percentage of those who passed was 70.8 percent, Bakhita Radio reported.
He said girls scored 72 percent which showed better performance though the top ten were all boys.
Mr Deng explained that the first boy from St Comboni Secondary School in Juba scored 86.6 percent compared to the 85.5 percent of the top girl from Mahad in Juba.
He said though the girls did not appeared in the top ten, their performance was better this year.
The Undersecretary said the results are expected to reach various states next week.
