75 candidates on Sunday underwent a one-day exams for national police training in Yambio, Western Equatoria State.

State Police spokesperson Mawa Faustino told Anisa Radio that the office of Inspector General of Police this year planned to recruit University and Secondary School graduates to police officers.

He said five of the candidates were female and the rest were male, and encouraged more women to apply.

Mr Mawa said the headquarters will scrutinize candidates’ qualifications and those who will meet the requirements would be trained at Rejaf Police Training Centre in Juba.

He explained that diploma and degree applicants will go for a one-year training and that secondary school leavers will go for a three-year training program.
