Yei River County Legislative Council endorsed a resolution regulating the operation of lodges in the town and mobile phones for learners and instructors at school.
Speaker Cosmas Lasuba Kasiano said the resolution came after observing that lodges were used for prostitution which promotes high risk of HIV AIDs, Easter Radio reported.
He said the Council resolved that no lodge would be rented by an individual just like a house.
Mr Lasuba explained that the resolution bans women from renting lodges to mobilize their fellow women to practice prostitution in it.
The Speaker said they also resolved to regulate the use of mobile phones by learners and instructors while at school.
He said they also resolve that no learners and instructors are allowed to use mobile phones to avoid interruption of learning process in classes.
Yei County Legislative Council also passed a resolution to establish youth offices in Bomas and Payams for the coordination of rural youth activities.
