Mikese University organizes public lecture in Yambio

The Administration of Mikese University on Friday organized a public lecture on the role of tertiary education in Yambio, Western Equatoria State.
 
The University Vice-Chancellor Peter Moudie said the lecture was part of the academic exercise where lecturers deliberate on one topic with members of the public, Anisa Radio reported.
 
He explained that this year the University has four colleges: Business administration, Education, Social Sciences and Agriculture.
 
State Education Minister Pia Philip Michael said the role of tertiary education is to do research to help the government take the right decision.
 
He added that tertiary education is also about new ways of doing things.  
 
The State Governor Joseph Bangasi Bakosoro said education is for self-promotion and transformation of the society.
 
He urged citizens to continue upgrading their educational levels.
 
The public lecture brought together students, professors, university staff and citizens.
