The United Nations Children’s Fund or UNICEF conducted a three-day workshop on disaster management and emergency response in Yambio, Western Equatoria state.
Facilitator Theresa Kamara said the training targeted all Relief and Rehabilitation Commission or RRC coordinators and line ministries in ten Counties of the state, Anisa Radio reported.
She added that the training was to equip participants with quick recovery and assessment skills on disaster and emergency management.
Ms Kamara said they will help vulnerable communities in dire need of humanitarian assistance.
State RRC Director Joseph Salvatore Nzaku urged the County coordinators to educate communities on responding to any disaster.
