Yei River County Labour and Establishment Assistant Inspector told private sector employers to follow right procedures when terminating contracts of their employees.

Paul Ohisa Thomas said contracts should be terminated after a one month notice before it ends, Easter Radio reported.

He said if an employee was terminated un-procedurally, he or she should go to the Labour Office to get his or her rights.

Mr Ohisa said if an employer terminated a contract, that company or organization must pay eight percent deducted every month from the employee and employer’s 17 percent contribution.

He explained that terminated employee should earn 25 percent at the end of the contract.

The Assistant Inspector made the remarks after receiving several complains from employees on un-procedural contracts termination.
