The President of the Republic revealed a plan to demobilize about 150 thousand SPLA combatants through Disarmament Demobilization and Reintegration DDR program across South Sudan.
Salva Kiir Mayardit told a public rally in Rumbek on Wednesday that the demobilization will include the high ranking commanders, wounded, aging soldiers and those
who want to voluntarily leave active military service, Good News Radio reported.
The President said DDR Commission will conduct trainings at Mapel for Greater Bahr El Ghazal, Torit for Great Equatoria and Pariak for Greater Upper Nile regions.
He said the demobilization is part of rehabilitating lives of soldiers who liberated the country.
