Youth leader calls for peace education

South Sudan Council of Churches or SSCC Youth chairperson on Saturday called on the government and stakeholders to involve and educate youths to work for peace.
 
Alfred Wani Martin discouraged random recruitment of thousand illiterate youths into the organized forces without thorough scrutiny.
 
He said the illiterate youths use firearms for robbing vulnerable citizens in the country.
 
Mr Wani urged the government to establish laws to protect girl child education.
 
The youths leader refuted government top officials’ claim that youths are leaders of tomorrow, saying youths are leaders of today in peace building.
 
He expressed South Sudan youths commitment and readiness to preach peace.
 
Mr Wani was speaking during the commemoration of the International Peace Day at Nyakuron Cultural Centre in Juba.
