Yei catholic Diocese on Thursday celebrated Assumption Day starting with a long procession from the SPLM Secretariat to Christ the King Cathedral.
Vicar-General Zachariah Angutuwa Sebit presided over the Eucharistic celebration.
He said people did not understand the meaning of Assumption but that the church was trying to make people understand the real meaning of taking Virgin Mary to heaven.
He praised mothers who took the example of the Mary the mother the Lord.
Fr Angutuwa called on South Sudanese not be afraid because the changes in the national government were good adjustment.
