A member of the Lakes State Legislative Assembly representing Wulu County denied selling alcohol.
Shadrach Bol Machock told Good News Radio from Wulu County in a telephone interview that the allegation published by the Sudan tribune and Gurtong websites that he was selling alcohol was rubbish and baseless.
On Sunday Sudan tribune reported that an official from Wulu County was involved in selling alcohol that the State Government earlier banned.
Mr Machock said county authorities were trying their best to bring the culprits of this reports to book.
Mr Machock said many false news stories were published in the county for quite a long time.
He cited the referendum cards selling as an example of baseless news items.
The MP urged reporters to balance their news stories.
He blamed journalists for not reporting many development activities that are taking place in the country.
Mr Machock said county authorities were working hard to get the people behind such false information.
