Tonj South County Deputy Police Commissioner issued an order banning movement in the market or in town at night.
William Deng Wol said police forces will patrol to crack down thieves and other people moving at night, Don Bosco Radio reported.
He warned that whoever will be found moving at night doing nothing will be imprisoned and later taken to court.
Mr Deng ordered all officers not to take their guns home after duty.
He urged those moving with spears and sticks in the town to leave them at home.
Mr Deng explained that restricting movements at night was a new regulation aimed at curbing theft and accidents in the County.
