The national Disarmament, Demobilization and Rehabilitation or DDR Commission on Tuesday donated a motorboat to Jur River County to ease transport challenges.
DDR County Coordinator William Tong said the commission was committed to deliver services to the community, Voice of Hope reported.
He explained that the motorboat aimed to increase the living standard of the people in rural areas.
Jur River County Commissioner John Arop Apai described the donation as helpful to the community and will ease the movement of citizens from Wau to the County headquarters at Nyinakok.
He appreciated the Commission for assisting the community in many ways.
Mr Arop cited challenges facing the County including impassable roads, few teachers and poor health facilities requiring quick intervention.
