A thunder struck a tree at Yei Freedom Square on Monday evening killing one child leaving four others in pain.
One of the boys identified as Moses Dara died three hours later at Yei civil hospital due to continuous blood bleeding.
The other four boys are in fair health situation receiving treatment at Yei civil hospital.
An eye witness Bullen Tabu Lasu told the press at the hospital that he saw the lightening proceeded by a strong thunder that struk the tree where the children were sitting.
He added that the thunder destroyed the tree and some branches.
Yei Freedom Medical Centre director Anthony Lubang attributed the thunder to absence of protons and neutrons on the tree.
He advised people to avoid sitting or taking cover under trees because trees are sources of thunder strike.
