Heiban County Commissioner banned the community from smoking shisha and using cosmetic for bleaching to change their skin colour.
Mubarak Bulis issued a local order to stop bleaching and shisha smoking in the County.
Umdurudu administrative Unit police officer Chodi Ngachalu Papa told Voice of Peace that cosmetics and shisha were harmful to people’s health.
He urged citizens to respect the Commissioner’s order.
He cited that women and children were involved in smoking shisha which is not the culture of Nuba people.
He discouraged girls from using cosmetics advising them to love their original colour of skin.
Mr Ngachalu warned that anyone found taking shisha, he or she will be accountable.
Health Workers raised concern that use of chemicals has a devastating effect on human body.
