A senior South Sudanese journalist predicted that the vice-president and the minister in the Office of the President might come from Equatoria region.
Juba Monitor Newspaper Chief Editor Alfred Taban told CRN on Saturday in a telephone interview that Equatoria has fewer members in the cabinet compared to Upper Nile and Bahr el Ghazal regions.
He expected Equatoria to get the position of the vice-presidency.
Mr Taban disclosed that the SPLM caucus was still discussing whether they should consider the SPLM hierarchy or regional representation in choosing the vice-president.
The editor said women are well represented in the cabinet and should not complain.
He explained that there are two women out of the 18 ministers and four out of the ten deputies, reflecting a good gender balance.
Mr Taban said there is inclusivity in the cabinet because various political parties were represented.
