Science teachers conclude practical training

Institute of Physics or IOP in United Kingdom in collaboration with state Education Ministry on Thursday concluded a three-day Teachers’ training on practical physics, chemistry and biology in Aweil Northern Bahr el Ghazal state.
 
One of the facilitators James Deng Dut told Voice of Hope Radio that training was the secondary sciences teachers for laboratory practical work.
 
He said IOP brought good apparatus for training teachers in Wau to carry out practical experiments in the laboratories. 
 
Mr Dut advised the trained teachers to train the secondary teachers who missed the training.
 
John Majier Makuei  Bahr El Ghazal secondary school physics teacher said they enjoyed the training and learned practical work in physics, optics and electricity.
 
He said he will be able to impart the same knowledge to his students to better in their future in South Sudan.
 
Mr Majier said as teachers they aim to educate students to become scientists in the future.
 
Tiam Barnabas Pacak Biology and Chemistry teacher at Wau Progressive School said they started by learning how water move from high to low concentrations and reaction of hydrogen and water known as methane.
 
He said they will be able to impart the same knowledge to students in his school. 
 
The training drew together more than 25 science teachers from Bahr El Ghazal region.
