Tonj South County Deputy Police Commissioner forbade people to move with guns in the market or in town.
William Deng Wol ordered all the organize forces to leave their guns in the barracks since there was no benefit in moving with them in town, Don Bosco Radio reported.He said officers on duty were allowed to move with their guns.
Mr Deng ordered officers not to take guns home after duty.
He told Tonj residents that the police will take action against those carrying guns in town.
Mr Deng told those moving with spears and sticks to leave them at home when they come to town.
He said all soldiers or organizes forces should have their permission letter and keep their guns at the barracks or police stations.
Mr Deng added that the new regulations aimed at curbing theft and accidents in Tonj.
