United Democratic Front or UDF new chairperson on Saturday took the oath of office during an extraordinary convention.
Acting chairperson Sebastian Ochan was unanimously elected by the party members as the new UDF chairperson for the next term, Bakhita Radio reported.He took immediately the oath of office.
UDF Central Equatoria chairperson Camillo Baibai said the extraordinary convention was called to meet the outcry of citizens in the country.
He said the party is one of the alternative political forces that can create viable solutions for South Sudan.
Mr Ochan said the UDF is the only active opposition party that opposes the governing system of the nation.
He added that the UDF is a positive opposition party that wants to see the nation run in a transparent manner.
UDF extraordinary convention streamlined the party’s administrative management.
