Tira community leader in Amdurdu Administrative Unit, Nuba Mountains, is advocating for girl child education.

Chief Charles Adam Tutu urged parents and authorities to support girls’ education.

He said campaign for girl child education should be taken into consideration in the Nuba Mountains.

Mr Tutu condemned negligence and negative attitudes on female education.

He said girls should be given priority in the family to be educated because they are the future mothers.

The chief discouraged the mentality that educating a girl is benefiting her husband.

Mr Tutu called on the entire community to avoid discrimination and send all children to school.

He concluded that there would not be development in the region unless both girls and boys get education.
