A health officer of Heiban County in Nuba Mountains alerted the communities for unhygienic environment.

Sarah Shamila told mothers to boil drinking water because the rainy season is prone to diarrhoea, bilharzias, irritation and cholera from contaminated water and food.

Ms Samila advised people in the society to keep food utensils and the environment clean.

She told women and all the people in the communities to cover food to avoid contamination.

Ms Shamlia advised students to apply science knowledge at home and in the society.

She was talking during the closing day of Sarbule Primary School on Thursday.
