Rumbek Public Health authorities urged town dwellers to clean the tall grass and stagnant waters around their homes to avoid cholera and malaria during the rainy season.

Assistant Public Health Administrator James Magok Akec told Good News Radio on Friday that the residents were alerted to keep the town clean.

Mr Magok warned that violators would be fined and jailed without pardon.

He urged the public not to interfere with the Public Health services they are delivering to people.

Rumbek communities usually resist such public health orders and mistreat the officials.
