Yabongo Girls Boarding Secondary School in Yambio, Western Equatoria, received two new science teachers to resume normal teaching in the second term of the current academic year.
Headmaster William Fuende denounced allegations that students were dropping out due to no proper teaching in the school, Anisa Radio reported.Mr Fuende explained that the school authorities faced some challenges in the first term with Form 3 and Form 4 classes because two science teachers were transferred from Yambio to Maridi.
He mentioned that about ten students dropped out after the first term due to unpaid school fees while others left the school due to various reasons.
School head girl Veronica Nadino reaffirmed that all the lessons are taught properly after the new teachers arrived.
She said Yabongo Girls Boarding Secondary School lacks safe water, textbooks and lights for studies.
Another student from senior three, Andila Joseph Dabi, called on his colleagues who dropped out due to irregular teaching to return to school.
On Tuesday, some MPs in the State Assembly condemned Yabongo Girls Boarding as one of the most poorly performing schools in Yambio County.
