Wau girls’ football team is ready for the interschool competition that is due to start on Saturday.
Coach Sabino Damazo Unango told Voice of Hope that his teams were prepared and ready to face any opposition from the various states as the competition starts.Mr Damazo explained the effort and importance of football to girls preparing them for the future.
He said sport refreshes the body and contributes to good health.
Mr Damazo recalled that his team won the football cup played in Rumbek last year in the interschool competition.
He promised to take the cup again this year because his teams are better prepared.
Mr Damazo revealed that girls in the state are always practicing even when no competitions are ongoing.
He described sport as a sign of peace to the people of Western Bahr el Ghazal and a symbolical sound blessing.
Mr Damazo said among the members in his team there were more than five experts.
He called on every youth to take sports as part of their life.
