The President of the Republic put the finance and cabinet affairs ministers on hold under corruption charges, lifted their immunity and placed them under investigation.

Salva Kiir Mayardit issued two republican decrees on Tuesday evening suspending ministers Kosti Manube Ngai and Deng Alor Kuol over a 7.9 million US dollars shady deal.

The decrees, read on SSTV and CTV, nominated a five-member investigation team headed by Justice John Gatwech Lul to investigate the two ministers and report the findings to the President within 60 working days.

The team is tasked to find out who authorized the deal to buy fire proof safe boxes and the payment to Daffy Investment Ltd and if the goods were delivered.
