A team of six committee members from Central Equatoria Legislative Assembly started touring the six counties of the state to assess causes of early marriage and rape cases affecting girls’ education.

Acting Chairperson of Gender and Social Welfare Committee at the State Legislative Assembly Joy Keji Raphael explained that the data assessment will help the parliament to strengthen the Girl Child Education Bill, Easter Radio reported.

In May, Central Equatoria State MPs raised a motion calling for an end to rape and early marriages in the state.
