An unknown gunman shot a boda boda rider on Friday night in Malualbab area of Lakes State.
26-year old Robert Ayiko, identified as Ugandan national, was shot three times in the neck by a suspected robber, Radio Good News reported.An eyewitness who asked not to named said the gunman first entered the room of a Kenyan national and robbed his phone and some money.
She said a torch light from Ayiko’s room made the gunman turn, force the door open and shoot.
Mr Ayiko is in a stable condition at Rumbek Civil Hospital and needed some blood because of heavy bleeding.
In another news, a policeman identified as Douma Rot Kija was shot dead while hunting with a friend in Wulu County.
MP representing Wulu, Shadrack Bol Machok, on Saturday said unknown gunmen killed Mr Kija and took his rifle.
Rumbek residents complain of robberies, beatings and intimidations at night and accuse the police of slow response.
Local Government minister Makoi Bol Kedit said the police lack vehicles to address security challenges.
