Western Bahr El Ghazal citizens expressed annoyance at the Sudanese President’s statement to close oil production within two months.

A shoe shiner in Wau Market said it was undiplomatic for Omar Al Bashir to always threaten people as if they were children, Voice of Hope reported.

He said even though the oil was not there, South Sudanese would survive as they did during the war.

The shoe shiner urged youths to work hard in the fields to sustain their families and avoid depending on oil revenue.

John Paul Secondary School student James Dhuor said it was up to Bashir to close down the oil because it was becoming tedious.

He said oil would not benefit South Sudan only, but the two countries were benefiting equally, so the shutdown would force both countries to face severe challenges.

Charcoal dealer Anthony Tibulinya said people were tired of going to Addis Ababa discussing the cooperation agreements and Sudan was not implementing them.

He suggested that South Sudanese should look for other means of selling to avoid such threats.

Mr Tibulinya urged the national government to construct an oil refinery to stop Bashir’s abusive language.

He asked all the youths to take agriculture the first priority to secure food in the country.
