Sudan is ready to reverse the oil shutdown if Juba suspends support to Sudanese rebels within the next 60 days.

The announcement came through a press statement issued by the Sudanese Embassy in Washington DC on Thursday.

It accuses Juba of harbouring Sudan Revolutionary Front rebels, arming and training them in Juba, Aweil, Raja, Bentiu, Robkona and around South Kordofan border.

The statement said “the Sudanese government provided the South Sudan Government with the evidence and documentation related to the matter.”

It added that the Government of South Sudan instead of stopping the support attempted to hide it.

The note said the blowing of pipelines in Abyei by Darfur rebel forces “was a clear proof of the technical and logistical support the rebels are getting from the government of Southern Sudan.”

The press release ended with a call to the international community to ensure that the Government of South Sudan fulfils its obligations stipulated in the road map issued by the AU Peace and Security Council UN Security Council and the cooperation agreements.
