The National Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment on Thursday organised a workshop to compile a final input of the Private Sector Development in South Sudan.

Private Sector Development Director Mary Akech said the workshop aimed to bring different stakeholders to have a final input in the document, Radio Bakhita reported.

She said after the final discussion the document would be submitted to the Minister to be presented to the Council of Ministers before forwarding it to the National Legislative Assembly for endorsement.

International Finance Corporation or IFC Operation Officer Jean Lubega said the work on the documents took 18 months because the team went to other countries to get experiences.

She said IFC was working since 2005 to improve the private sector by financing and supporting business development.

Director General for Planning and Statistics John Pan Paguir said the purpose of the workshop was to come up with a document that would help the private sector.

He added that the workshop would validate the private sector 2013-2015 strategy to help stakeholders understand medium and small term enterprises.

IFC-supported strategy was prepared after wide consultation with public and private sectors, donors and diplomatic corps.
