The Catholic Bishop of Wau discouraged idleness among people waiting time away with games and chats.

Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak said Christian life is not about sitting under trees, wasting time and playing cards for hours without any benefit, Radio Emmanuel reported.

He urged Christians to work hard to earn a decent life, saying Christ did not come so that people played cards and mungula all day long.

Bishop Deng described idleness as killing energy and he wondered where the idle people get the food they eat.

The Bishop noted that idleness was neither a Christian way of life nor an African tradition.

He said the current generation would not exist if their great grandparents were idle.

Bishop Deng said without work people do not live.

He preached that hard work brings righteous in the Kingdom of God.

Eastern Equatoria Governor Louis Lobong Lojore appreciated the Bishop’s words discouraging idleness.
