Hundreds of Christians in Eastern Equatoria state on Saturday received Torit Catholic Diocese Apostolic Administrator Fr Thomas Oliha.
A large crowd of Christians, clerics and government officials gathered at Fotur Mafi, about five kilometres on Torit-Juba road welcoming Fr Oliha with ululations and applauds of joy, Radio Emmanuel reported.Eastern Equatoria state governor, Louis Lobong Lojore led a convoy of over 40 cars of government officials, clergy and Christians.
Bishop Erkulano Lodu of Yei Diocese, Bishop Rudolf Deng of Wau Diocese, and Torit Bishop Emeritus Paride Taban accompanied Fr Oliha from Juba.
The Apostolic Administrator paid tribute to the late Bishop Akio, at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral before reopening Bishop’s house.
Congregation of Evangelization of peoples in Rome appointed Fr Oliha an Apostolic Administrator on May 16 to oversee pastoral and social activities of Torit Catholic Diocese.
