Sudanese Armed Forces or SAF on Saturday crossed the border into the territories of South Sudan in Upper Nile state.

Army spokesman Col Philip Aguer Panyang on Sunday told reporters in Juba that SAF took the advantage after the SPLA withdrew from all demilitarized areas, Radio Bakhita reported.

He said SAF now occupies Kueck area in the Shilluk Kingdom of Upper Nile state.

Col. Aguer said there was no attack so far reported.

He complained that the heavy presence of SAF in Upper Nile was against the Cooperation Agreements South Sudan and Sudan signed in September 2012.

Col. AguerÊ said SAF did not withdraw from all areas supposed to be demilitarized.

He said South Sudan will formally protest to the UN and the International community.
