Government Economic Cluster in its meeting on Friday passed the Inter-governmental Agreement or IGA between South Sudan and Kenya on the crude oil pipeline.
Justice Minister John Luk Jok said the IGA was drafted in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding the two countries signed in January 2012.He said the IGA aimed to develop and expand cooperation between the two sides based on equality and mutual benefits.
Justice Luk said the IGA supports construction and operation of crude oil pipeline from South Sudan to Lamu port in Kenya to ship the crude oil to the international market.
The IGA will go to the National Council of Ministers for endorsement.
