International Organisation for Migration or IOM is planning to construct immigration offices at Lasu Payam of Yei River County to boost bilateral relations between the South Sudan and DR Congo.
IOM communications officer Mathew Graydon carried out a feasibility survey in the area, Easter Radio reported.He said IOM will construct offices to facilitate issuance of immigration documents and establishment of customs at the border.
Yei River County Commissioner Juma David said the offices would regulate movements, improve security, and generate more revenue to South Sudan.
The project funded by the Japanese Government is expected to start this month.
