A hotel in Juba’s Hai Jalaba area was on fire for the second time in four months and a whole wing built in prefabricated material was reduced to ashes and twisted iron sheets.

Sahara Hotel’s kitchen, restaurant, stores and two administrative offices were gutted at about 1:00 AM.

Four rented offices were also burned up together with a car parked at the facility.

Another two cars were heavily damaged by the flames.

In January, a space rented by Al Jazeera TV at the Sahara Hotel was also charred.

CRN visited the hotel at midday and the mood at the facility was somber with staff sitting and looking sadly at the still smoking debris.

The reporter was unable to reach the Sahara Hotel manager, a Lebanese national, to try to discover the cause for the fire and the loss in the accident.
