Western Bahr El Ghazal education ministry announced the postponement of the National Inter-Schools games that were scheduled to kick off on May 15.
This is the second National Inter-schools Sports Competition which produces a team to represent South Sudan in the Eastern and Central Africa inter-schools games planned for June, Voice of Hope reported.State Education Minister Adel Atanasio Suror confirmed that the games were shifted from May 15 to 27 due to some technical challenges connected to playgrounds and accommodation of participants coming from the ten states of South Sudan.
The tournament is expected to draw more than 1,400 boys and girls competing in six different sports, accompanied by 148 administrator sand 162 coaches.
The delay came after a two-day meeting with a delegation from the National Ministry of Education headed by Minister Joseph Ukel Abango.
Cultural games are being introduced for the first time in the National Inter-Schools Tournament.
