Wau special court sentenced four police officers on Tuesday afternoon to six months in prison in relation to Wau December’s deadly violence and set one free.

The officers were accused of perpetrating violence and involvement in the protest against Wau County headquarter transfer to Baggari, Voice of Hope reported.

A fifth officer was cleared of charges and set free for lack of evidence.

The court released six police officers last month.

The court is expected to pass on Wednesday a sentence on 12 suspects of the Farjella killings, one of the most awaited rulings since the special court was opened.
