The ongoing South Sudan Secondary School Certificate Examination is on a smooth track in Eastern Equatoria after a bumpy start due to several challenges.

Chief invigilator at Torit Day Secondary School Centre Emmanuel Justin told Radio Emmanuel the examination centres needed early preparation to better candidates’ performance.

He said earlier irregularities that included missing examination papers should not happen again.

Mr Justin urged the ministry of education to set mechanisms to handle uncertainties that can hinder students’ success.

The chief invigilator added that the examination centres also needed professional teachers able to provide efficient supervision and distribute examination materials to students in time.

South Sudan Secondary School certificate Examinations started in mid April and end on Saturday.

The beginning of the examinations was marred by several anomalies that included missing papers, inadequate examination question and paper for different subjects in the same envelop.

An MP asked the National Assembly to sack the General Education minister and annul the results of the South Sudan Secondary School certificate Examinations due to the problems the students faced during exams.
