Youth leaders called on the President of the Republic to include them in the national constitutional review process.
South Sudan Youth Peace and Development Programme Manager Fred Chol Makuei appreciated President Salva Kiir for giving a position to the youth in the National Reconciliation Commission, Bakhita Radio reported.Mr Chol urged the President to give the youth a vacancy in the National Constitution Review Commission.
He complained that the youth were granted only sport activities instead of real roles during the Interim Constitution review process.
Mr Chol revealed that some youths are dying in reckless activities because they are kept idle, neglected and misled.
He called on the Government to engage the youth in national building to explore their positive energy.
Mr Chol said the youth wanted to get involved in the constitutional review in order to fight for affirmative action in the Constitution, youth age limit and youth unemployment among other issues.
