Twenty correction officers attended a human right workshop organized by United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS in Tombura County.
UNMISS Human Rights Officer James Fandasi told Radio Amisa that the workshop was organized to train the correctional officers and ensure full protection and promotion of human right in the prisons of Tombura County.He added that their objective was to develop international standard of rules and regulations on the protection of inmates.
Mr Fandasi stated that the workshop was part of UNMISS’ mandate to build workforce capacity in South Sudan.
Tombura Commissioner Babiro Charles Gbamisi thanked UNMISS.
He urged the participants to implement the new skills acquired during the two-day workshop.
