The Ministry of Health in Western Bahr El Ghazal has been granted more than two million British pounds to support primary health care projects in the state.

The donation came from a joint group of donors called Health Pool Fund of 12 million British pounds for Eastern Equatoria, Unity and Western Bahr El Ghazal, Voice of Hope reported.

Health Pool Fund’s Monitoring and Evaluation Manager in South Sudan Sonja Nieuwenhuis revealed that interested health NGOs should apply for the project implementation.

She said the project will last for two and half years covering some 20 counties in the three states.

Ms Nieuwenhuis stressed the need to identify priorities which are relevant in the plans of the state ministry of health.

She added that partners have to lay down their action plans in line with those priorities.

Ms Nieuwenhuis said the project for Western Bahr E Ghazal goes from early July up to April 2016.

Health Pool team members were in Western Bahr El Ghazal to request for proposals from the state Ministry of Health as well as other partners who could support the projects.
