Thousands of people celebrated the conclusion of Western Bahr E Ghazal cultural week on Monday evening at Wau Theatre.

The event started on Tuesday April 16 and brought much happiness after last December’s deadly violence, Voice of Hope reported.

UNMISS state coordinator Winnie Babihuga said the cultural week showed that the people of Wau were ambassadors of peace.

She expressed her happiness to see gladness in the eyes of people during the week-long celebrations, which made her proud of the people of Wau.

Ms Babihuga urged all the communities and the government to continue collaborating with one another to develop the state and be peace builders.

She added that all people in the ten states of South Sudan should be like the people of Western Bahr el Ghazal.

Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan said he was pleased to see joy and happiness in the state.

He congratulated the communities for the big achievement they made.

Governor Zachariah urged all the citizens to collaborate in every single work for the development of the state.
