EE SPLM LEADER URGES MEMBERS TO MAKE PARTY ATTRACTIVE

Members of the ruling party have been urged to embrace its values to make it attractive to citizens in every corner of the country.

Eastern Equatoria SPLM Vice Chairperson Okanyi Felix Remidjio made the call on Tuesday during a one-day capacity building training of over 40 party representatives in the state, Radio Emmanuel reported.

The training conducted by International Republican Institute or IRI attracted members of the state SPLM Parliamentary Caucus, executive committee, secretariat, and youth and women leagues.

Mr Okanyi said the party cadres should display the SPLM’s values and principles of peace, unity and love to be seen as members of a disciplined party.

He suggested that party members should strengthen cohesion among themselves from the villages to the top leadership.

IRI Political Parties Division officer Troy Body told the press that the training covered areas of leadership skills, party office development and administrative procedures, roles and responsibilities of party officials to move the party forward and designated duties and duties for an effective secretariat office.

Mr Body said IRI aimed to empower the SPLM and other political parties in the country to advance democratic principles of governance and rule of law.
