The President of the Republic has called on the National Assembly to pass the nine pending bills in this session.
The Bills include the Petroleum Revenue Management, Agricultural Bank, Workers Trade Union, Right to Access to Information, Broadcasting Corporation, Media Authority, Advocacy, Pension Scheme and HIV/AIDs Commission.President Salva Kiir Mayardit said in his address at the opening of the parliament on Tuesday in Juba that he expects the parliament to pass the nine Bills as its main task.
He said some of the bills have been in the parliament for too long and he particularly want them passed.
President Kiir urged MPs to pay attention to education and support legislations that advance education for the young ones and the country to develop.
He said education is needed to prepare the young generations to take full control of the country’s resources.
The President added that he was encouraged by the performance for passing laws and that this session will achieve great progress.
