CALL FOR PASSING BILLS MOVE TOWARDS DEMOCRACY

An MP representing Mundri, Western Equatoria state said President Salva Kiir call for passing of the pending bills indicates a move towards democracy.

Richard K Mulla told CRN that the opening session of the parliament was good because the president made it clear to the MPs to pass a number of bills.

He added that having president talking about passing media, workers’ union bills shows opening toward democracy.

Dr Mulla added that he was not impressed by the President when he ignored to talk about the issues of corruption in the country.

He said he was expecting both the President and the Speaker to talk about the corruption whether it is been contained or not.

Dr Mulla added that MPs were expecting the President Kiir to mention something about the thsft in his office and the power he reduced from his vice.
