A Kenyan national working as UNMISS correctional officer expressed her enthusiasm on Sunday for the humility of South Sudanese leaders towards God.
Rose Mary Mukaya in her farewell speech told the congregation at St. Mary Parish in Yambio that she learnt a lot in South Sudan than elsewhere by seeing leaders worshiping God everyday, Anisa Radio reported.Ms. Mukasa promised to take the lesson to her country.
She stated that in Juba she could see President Kiir moving with his family to the church, and in Yambio Governor Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro, his Ministers and the Members of Parliament pray all the times.
Ms. Mukaya was amazed to see Governor Bakosoro walking with the cross on his shoulder in a very hot sun and the biggest crowd that turned up to follow the way of cross in Yambio on the Good Friday.
She appreciated the people of Western Equatoria in particular and South Sudan at large for their hospitality and humility.
The Parish Priest, Fr. Mark Kumbonyaki thanked Ms. Mukaya as a faithful daughter of St. Mary for her regular visits and support.
He said she will remain alive in the Parish through dozens of desks she bought for the church among other deeds.
Ms. Mukaya came to South Sudan in 2011 working with UNMISS in partnership with the National Prison Service.
Rose Mary will go home her home country Kenya in few days to come.
