The Church needs guidance mechanisms to lead the faithful and assist the Government in times of peace.
This was the main conclusion Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro of Juba underlined at the end of a two-day meeting held by the nine bishops and heads of diocese in South Sudan.The Metropolitan of the Catholic Church in South Sudan said even the Sudan Council of Churches needs some changes to meet Khartoum’s growing hostilities.
Archbishop Lukudu underlined that the Churches are building slowly mechanisms to contribute effectively in the guidance in the new country.
He added that the situation in the country needs a very close monitoring and the leaders of the Church have to meet often.
The bishops and heads of dioceses this morning had a long and deep look at the current situation in South Sudan, assisted by UNMISS Chief Hilde Johnson and other experts.
Two bishops from the Episcopal Church of Sudan and one from the Presbyterian Church attended Saturday’s session.
