SOUTH SUDAN BISHOPS REVIEW CURRENT SITUATION

The bishops and head of diocese of South Sudan are starting a two-day meeting on Friday morning in Juba to review the current situation in the Church and in the country.

Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe of Yei told CRN that the participants will study the internal life of the Catholic Church in South Sudan and the situation in the country.

The heads of the dioceses of Rumbek and Torit were asked to present reports and the Caritas South Sudan is also part of the agenda of the meeting.

The two-day meeting is only for bishops and heads of diocese in South Sudan.

The Plenary of the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference for the bishops and heads of diocese of both Sudans will take place in June in Juba.
