The Councillors of Yambio County urged all park managers in Yambio to hand over full responsibility by Friday this week for the management to be officially transferred to UKU Company Ltd.
The Chairperson of Yambio County Council, Raphael Zamoi, said a meeting on Monday that UKU Company Ltd claimed to have won the bid of full responsibility over the parks but the previous managers refused to hand the management over, Radio Anisa reported.County Technical advisor Morris Tambua Severino stated that the contract won by UKU said the company was responsible for cleaning the town, do drainage management, plant trees and flowers, manage public toilets and alll the parks and parking yards in Yambio County.
The parks managers complained that the county authorities have never called them for a meeting.
They added that they were employing more than 50 people who would lose their jobs.
The parks managers complained that the county issued them one year operating licenses and now it is asking them to stop.
County Executive Director Daniel Mathew Wawure urged the management of UKU to consider employing those working in the various parks due to their experience in the field.
